IV Infusion

IV (intravenous) infusion therapy is a procedure that involves delivering medications or nutrients that are injected directly into a patient’s bloodstream. We offer IV iron infusion therapy and Zoledronic Acid infusion therapy designed with accessibility and affordability at its core.

Iron is one of the minerals in the human body. If you don’t have enough iron, your body can’t make hemoglobin, and you may develop anemia. One way of treating anemia is with an iron infusion. We provide both Monoferric and Venofer iron infusions for patients. Monoferric Iron uses a fixed dosing schedule. Patients typically only require one infusion due to higher dosing but will vary based on patient blood work. Venofer or Iron Sucrose is given as a split dose over several days. Patients typically require three infusions but will vary based on patient blood work. The referring physician can select their preferred iron infusion, or if there’s no specific preference, a licensed prescribing pharmacist from Calgary Co-op HUB, our trusted pharmacy partner, will review and recommend the best option ensuring optimal patient care.

Zoledronic acid is part of a group of medications called bisphosphonates that treats osteoporosis. These medications slow the breakdown of your bones and reduces your risk of fracture. The medication is given by IV infusion once per year.
